PRODUCER/ENGINEER: TOM BRIGNALL
Having started his professional career making tea for some of the music industry's finest, Tom joined the BBC in 1999, working at Maida Vale Studios on the John Peel Session archives. From here he moved to commercial radio, producing Entertainment News, and strands such as Paul Oakenfold Presents and Superstar DJ's. For the last 6 years Tom has run his own audio production company, specialising in recording/mixing BBC Radio output for all the main channels, alongside producing audiobooks, live event recording, and soundtrack/music-to-picture work.
PRODUCER/ENGINEER: JON CALVER
After initially working for BBC World Service Jon moved to the National Radio Stations. As a sound designer on a range of highly-acclaimed programmes he became a Senior Studio Manager in 2000 and then had a spell as a Producer with BBC Radio’s Documentaries Unit. Since leaving the Corporation he has co-produced and engineered a wide range of audio projects for UK based clients and given University seminars on radio/podcast production.
ENGINEER: GRAHAM PUDDIFOOT
Graham has been involved in the technical production of radioprogrammes for 25 years. His eight years as a BBC Studio Manager covered
live news, documentary features, drama production, music sessions for Radios
1 and 2, and a period at the Radiophonic Workshop. He often acts as a
technical trainer for the BBC and is a SADiE specialist, having written the
SADiE 3 manual for the manufacturers. Graham is always in demand for his
combination of technical proficiency and the ability to contribute to the
editorial process.
DIRECTOR/WRITER/ACTOR: ROY McMILLAN
Recent work as a reader includes the unabridged Don Quixote, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Bulldog Drummond and Bulgakov's Heart of a Dog, all for Naxos AudioBooks. Commercial work includes Conister Bank, Barclays, BMW, EDF Energy and AXA.
Broadcast work as director includes an adaptation of The Duchess of Malfi and The Fiery World for BBC Radio 3 and Chatterton - The Allington Solution for BBC Radio 4. He has worked extensively with Naxos AudioBooks as a director on books by Austen, Conrad, Woolf, Hardy, Murakami, Bulgakov and Mansfield, among many others.
ACTOR: RACHEL BAVIDGE
Rachel has recorded over 40 audiobooks. Most recent work includes: Agnes Gray, The Woman in White and the poems of Christina Rossetti for Naxos Audiobooks. Radio work includes The Allington Solution for Radio 4 and The Duchess of Malfi for Radio 3, as well as two stints in the BBC radio repertory company. Interactive Voice Response (IVR) work has included being the voice of Trailfinders London, Hilton Hotels and Sage Accounting. On stage, she has performed in Whose Life is it Anyway? in the West End, and Much Ado About Nothing, both directed by Peter Hall. Television credits include Wire in the Blood, Inspector Lynley Mysteries and The IT Crowd
